Amber Client

Hi.

The client closes without further notice as soon as it's supposed to finish with loading map tiles.
Skimming through the thread I've seen that it is most likely a problem with the graphic card. (And only having a nameless Intel HD Graphics on my laptop makes it even more likely.)

Is there still a way to fix it?

Edit: And I simply had the (updated but yet) wrong version of Java... -.-

Hey guys, it was very simple to get Amber up and running on Windows, but I tried to run it on my boyfriend's Mac and am having trouble. I am fairly good with Windows but know nothing of Macs.

When I double clicked the run.sh, it opens in a program that looks kind of like Notepad and the bar at the top that says the name says "Locked" after it. I googled how to unlock files but nothing works. I can take a screenshot if necessary but I don't know how yet which is why I haven't already lol.

Thanks to whoever can help! Hopefully people actually still look at this lol


edit: I figured out I can change the program to open in Console, which I assume is similar to command prompt in Win, but still it doesn't work

Thanks for the reply and feedback, romovs, your points are obviously correct... I didn't think it through enough.

I do have a suggestion that is well thought through, and has to do with me just being caved-in on...
You know the sparkling/snow/rain/dust particle effect after you mine a tile (without supports), that shows an adjacent tile to the tile you just mined out is a cave-in tile?

Well, my problem is that it doesn't last long enough, or isn't visible enough, or... Well, I just guess I missed it, so my question is if you could either make it permanent, or maybe just simply a text based warning that is printed whenever that animation starts?

At any rate, something along those lines, so that if you miss the wall going poof (afk/alt-tab) you know for sure if the animation was played or not.

Nevermind, I just got caved-in a second time, and this time I'm 100% sure the tile next to the tiled that caved-in on me didn't play the dust animation :/

Do cave-ins generate new cave-in tiles? Or do nearby cave-in boulders cause "unannaunced" cave-ins? I mined in a different direction for 100+ tiles, and the cave-in animation kept me totally safe...

Now I have a suggestion that makes sense and works though, or so I hope: Ctrl+Alt+Lmb on an item currently drops all of those items to the ground, could you add a shift modifier, to drop only the items of equal and higher / equal and lower with lmb/rmb respectively?
So that while harvesting non-seed crops, you could more easily either drop the crop you want to plant (equal and higher ql), or drop the crop you don't want to plant (equal and lower ql).
Or to more easily get lowql stuff gone from a container...

Good for him. But I just wanted to play HH again =( and once I experienced amber I can't play default client anymore.

If you're referring to the EXCEPTION_STACK_OVERFLOW error, then installing 64-bit Java usually helps. If it doesn't, please post the log when running with 64-bit Java.

The client shut downs few seconds after i pick character. It's black screen and it says it's loading some files ( like always when you run this client ) and then it shut downs without any report. Do you know how to solve it?

try to clear cache folder in .haven folder in your documents folder. folder.
