Red and white sound the same. I mean, if you set the alarm to sound on white/unknown people it will also sound for red people. And it will definitely annoy you if you ever visit a city like HH or Aurora or such, where white peaceful polite players minding their own business pass you by every 30 seconds or less and the alarm never stops. Also, if you opt in settings to have your toon teleported to your heart fire upon meeting an unknown player, it will do the same for reds, saving your life for sure. And it will also make you loose your boat, knarr, cart and "wagon together with its ox or horse" every time you try to go out and explore a bit. This is a very good option to activate if you need to replace your PC.

Walking around naked is natural, since very few have time to waste in getting a rag to cover their deep wounds. And the game is only Alpha.

actually, ive replaced the "red alert" siren with something less obnoxious, so its not too bad to meet and greet at cities with whites. I think im going to have to try replacing the red sound file with something now. Would be neat to hear a "enemy at the gate" or something along those lines for the red alarm. It certainly does help when you don't have two screens like myself, so im often web browsing while auto walking or boating about. Damn nomad quests

As far as I know (I could be wrong, of course) there are not 2 sound slots. White and red are the same thing in Amber code. So you can not have one behaviour/sound etc. for red and another for white. All or nothing. AFAIK.

Yeah it's the same (obnoxious) sound for both alarms.

Substituting "Dig" with "Scava" (italian) returns the following string in-game:
Scavapaginae/act/emotes=Emotes

Before: paginae/act/dig = Digpaginae/act/emotes=Emotes
After: paginae/act/dig = Scavapaginae/act/emotes=Emotes

It's like it considers text what's after "Scava" when instead it's just a different action.
Tried to put spaces after "scava" or in emotes but nothing seems to work. Never had this kind of problem, any solution?

I'm trying to setup amber client on my brother computer. I've done this on multiple computers at this point, but his PC is giving me problems. Windows 10 64-bit, GTX1080, i7-3770K, 16BG RAM
Currently have Java 8 Update 151 (64-bit) and Java SE Development Kit 8 Update 151 (64-bit) installed. Newest driver for a 1080.
I've reinstalled all java components multiple times(there are no old versions), as well as multiple fresh folders for amber client. Tried putting the folder on desktop/documents/program files. Nothing works.
Running the normal autohaven.jnlp works fine. But when double clicking run.bat, the command prompt flashes, then nothing. I've tried running the run.bat file as an admin, and it says it can't access hafen.jar.
I was able to get it working at some point by editing the run.bat, but that only worked for a few tries, and always had an error window open. Can't recreate that atm.
I've gotten some help from the HH wiki discord chat, and edited the run.bat according to suggestions, still didn't work.
I don't know what I'm missing/doing wrong.

Any input/suggestion would be greatly appreciated! I'll provide any information needed.

Edit: Here is the change to the run.bat that was suggested to me, which doesn't change the behavior. command prompt flashes, that's it.

Code: Select all
cd /d %~dp0
start javaw -Xms512m -Xmx1024m -jar hafen.jar -U https://game.havenandhearth.com/hres/ game.havenandhearth.com

Edit 2: I added pause to the end of the run.bat in a new line.
Command prompt shows this only
Code: Select all
C:\Users\USERNAME\Documents\HnH>start javaw -Xms512m -Xmx1024m -jar hafen.jar -U https://game.havenandhearth.com/hres/ game.havenandhearth.com

C:\Users\USERNAME\Documents\HnH>pause
Press any key to continue . . .

So no errors are showing I guess? I must be doing something wrong here.
