Postby Schattengaenger » Thu Nov 29, 2018 1:03 pm

Hello fellow devs,

(this might just be a problem with the amber client, but I am not a programmmer and wouldn't know)

EDIT: this happend when my alt next to me cut down an Alder Tree, but only my client crashed. my alt (with the same client) didn't experiance the crash.

Is there any way to change the resolution of the client? Got a new monitor with a monstrously larger res than prior one, annnd unfortunately all the text is so very, very tiny. Can't seem to force the client to open in another window with a smaller resolution either, alas.

Only start the client once.

Only real workaround is to lower the resolution of the desktop.

Simply stated the reason for this is most likely a read or write error from downloading. It nothing too big of an issue. If you reboot the client and do the same thing it shouldn't happen again. I am assuming you were lagging at the point when obtaining the chopped log of the tree or the animation and during this lag, bot clients requested the file. The one client got it correctly and was writing it, the other client was attempting to do the same thing but failed since the other one was writing to the same file at the same time so on it's end showed up as incorrect and crashed. General crashes that have errors such as this 'Caused by: haven.Resource$LoadException: Load error in resource gfx/' indicate you were lacking a graphic image in some way when it was required and most times this due to you not being able to download it in the allotted time or because you were trying to write to the same file twice as you noted.

Sorry for the late reply, I have been busy with exams and projects but I hope this answers this crash.

You do not have to do this. You can change the chat font under options -> UI Settings. There is a drop down box with available font options. The graphic texts may not be changed but at least you should be able to easily read chat :)

1.) Search the forums for what may be your question already answered.

2.) Actually explain what is wrong and what you have tried and any errors you receive so we could actually help you.

3.) Don't say 'i cant get it to work is there any one that can help' on forums and expect an actual answer.

Just saw this and to possibly fix this try running the client as administrator as well as adding an exception in your antivirus for java and the client. It seems the operating system is preventing access. Maybe also try using a slightly older version of java such as 1.8.190 or 1.8.189.

Edit: also I noticed you are using a 86x version of java on a 64 but version of Windows. Uninstalling java and installing the 64 bit will probably fix your problem as well.
