Some variable transparency added to the grid lines, based on the zoom(in) level might work well visually.

I'm not sure if it shows when you throw a tinker's throwing axe, but it would be great if that could be done as well.
I am currently waiting for a new one to finish as I accidentally threw mine during a fight, and have no idea if it broke or I just lost it lol.

Right now it supports vanilla cameras (bad, worse, follow, ortho, ortho free). Camera can be cycled with shift + c.
I don't think there is the one you are asking for, unless its "ortho free"?

I don't think it ever showed real aggro radius, I think its more to bring visibility so you know that there is something to avoid.
Larger area might add too much clutter
