I've fixed the issues that were mentioned in this thread, and merged the changes properly, so that they are now part of the standard client. I guess I'll find it soon enough, then, if there are people who can't play on Java 8. :)

Please don't tell me you guys aren't going to do any extra optimizations, because i still play at 0-1 FPS in my village and 2-5 outside...
Total misplay.

Of course not, but that sounds extremely extreme, though. I get higher FPS than that even on my old Ironlake-equipped laptop, which I even think was Intel's first GPU to support OpenGL 2.0. Are you trying to get it to run on some Android phone or something?

Nope, using a PC that's slower than a sloth, but it played Legacy at 40-60 FPS, for some reason it handles Hafen TERRIBLY!

Although i'm using a integrated HD Intel graphics card, and i heard you guys have a bad history with that?

Also when you say "Of course not", do you mean of course we aren't going to continue or of course we would not stop?

I'll never "stop" optimizing the client. Whether I have ideas for changes that will have a meaningful impact is of course a different question. It did obviously take me a while to formulate the recent changes, for example.

I am glad you did, and fixed that pesky memory leak, which seems a common flaw in a many java games... not every ones comp can handle being dumped like that suddenly lol.

But every improvement is a good one.

It wasn't actually a memory leak per se, though; it's just that I used a larger heap size for the test client, which causes it to keep more textures in memory at one time before it GCs the heap and takes some of the textures with it on that.

While running default client on my fiancee's laptop I was getting 7 fps stable
