Could someone make a program to visualize building colors?

Postby Smoopadoop » Sat Dec 12, 2015 7:37 am

Could someone make a program where you choose a building, choose primary/secondary/tetriary woods, stones, and metals, and see what it'd look like?
If it is possible, could you have a try? I'm sure everyone would love you forever.
Thanks!

There is a feature request that the game shows the outcome of what would happen if you press build, given the stockpiles around the construction site.

Yes, I'm pretty sure people would give their first born child for that. =)

Is that in one of your clients? Or did you just make it

It's for other reasons. I've added it into an amber client as below if you want to go play around with it (I wouldn't recommend it for daily play as I won't be keeping it up to date).

alt+right click will trigger your menu to create gobs (ignore edit tile) or if you alt+right click an existing gob you can edit it or delete it.
To move your new gobs around just ctrl+click&drag them around.
To change the res files just click the buttons in the Edit Gob Window and double click the one you want in the list to the right of it. Once you set everything just hit the commit button.
Also depending on the Primary Resource you pick you'll either be able to add an SDT number (typically 0, unless something like stockpiles) or a list of secondary resources. The latter is only for a small set of objects so if you want another one added that i didn't put in tell me and i'll tell you how to add it in.

Typically the very first added gob deletes itself for some reason that I don't care to find, so if a gob disappears just remake it.

PM me if you run into issues or if you need a new obj added to the list of createable objects.

Might be that GOB -1 is something special, or used ingame?
