I don't know about your image stitching library but yellow and brown does not go together that well? Also rivers just end randomly ... and so do entire biomes? I don't see any similarity on many borders ... ;-)

p.s.: A 256k limit for attachments ... seriously?

Its not necessary the stitching algorithm itself. Its more so the tiles that people send in. Sometimes I get things like

Which in turns screws things up if I do not catch it.

Its fairly easy to fix once I do find a mismatch, and I've been working on new code to handle such issues.

Never trust user input ... :P I could submit a 5 by 5 grid with the outer tiles matching your "database" and use the inner 3 by 3 to display a smiley or something as long as the borders match ... :P

Anyway ... so you'd need to check the consistency of the submitted tiles as well at every border within the submitted set in order to prevent unintentional ruining of your "database" ... bugger ... :/

Thank you for your effort ... I am just a noob but I love the whole world map idea ... and how you (or the guy who came up with the idea in W6?) are using the GoogleMaps library ... ;-)

I downloaded full map and created a program that tries to highlight villages. Here is the result.

I thought about doing something similar for fun ... I wanted to guesstimate the "growth rate" of villages or rather the "activity" ... ;-)

p.s.: Another minor issue with misplaced tiles ... http://odditown.com/haven/map/#x=-119.67&y=-7.85&zoom=9

keep scrolling, stay sharp and hope for the best. Getting lucky is he only way to fing your surrounding territories on the map. Try to pick some distinctive feature like a large body of water.

i dont think the regular haven client saves the map so you need to use a custom client like amber
