Why has no one pointed out he could code a new client, that doesn't require java?

Would that be illegal?

Legal or not it would be a pain in the ass.

No. It's just a lot to do. I doubt that anyone would do that for free. But it could be done.

He's usually able to *extend* the client with lisp at least, but I think the base is still Java. I might be wrong though, boshaw is pretty respectable. :)

"A Haven and Hearth experimental client alternative"

This is mainly reference going to a common lisp client from the java. It's not complete and there's no reason to do so at this point. Maybe later down the line with hafen i'll revive it and make it useful.

Not sure how well it worked, if at all.

This one is for old haven. So it still works with the legacy server: http://i.imgur.com/z4nXIFA.jpg. But it's way incomplete to be fully playable. I stopped working on it when hafen was launched.

And also, it requires .NET/Mono to play instead of Java.

Which means even if it would work for hafen you'd still couldn't run it native on chromebook - you'd have to use i.e. crouton and a supported Linux Distri ...

Interresting stuff marvi :)

The java server can communicate with non-java clients? Interesting, although not surprising I guess. I might have to make a client now since all I know is python
