Any custom client for Legacy

Postby Romantyk12 » Sun Nov 20, 2016 3:50 pm

I am struggling very hard with making my Legacy work.
Of course haven.jnlp shared by loftar works, but i played my whole time on ender client.
And i know you need to do some thing to make it run again.
What can i do to by able to play on custom client like anemone or ender?
I've searched forum and i fount out i need to copy some things, in other case i need some coding (I am really green here, have no idea)
Can humble soul help me get custom client? :c

This is from the .bat for the legacy ender client (from a backup):
Code: Select all
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre7\bin\java.exe" -Xms512m -Xmx512m -jar haven.jar moltke.seatribe.se

I think you'll need to change the moltke.seatribe.se part to what Loftar has put into the haven.jnlp so it'll connect to the legacy server.

Happy to have helped, have fun with the (nearly) single-player version.

Ok, so I just verified my account and I would like to play Legacy with a custom client, but I'm not sure exactly what to do here..where do I need to paste that code at?

You paste it into the run.bat inside the client folder

That doesn't help. What do I paste? legacy.havenandhearth.com?

I too would like an exact step-by-step explanation of how to make the Ender client work.

I have an old Ender client (v20.01.14) which I used to play Haven and Hearth with a few years ago and which makes a lot of problems now. It refuses to work on my current PC with Windows 8, either giving me a 'Connection refused: connect' message when I try to log in or just crashing entirely, depending on whether I start the client with haven.jar or updater.jar. Incidentally It does kinda work on my super old PC (which is still running on XP), but the client crashes almost constantly and the map is all sorts of screwed up, which robs the game of any fun.

Now I understand that the problem lies with the now changed url (legacy.havenandhearth.com instead of moltke.seatribe.se) and that I need to change the url in the files. Most people say I have to change the run.bat file. Only problem is... I don't have that file. I've looked in my Ender client folder and I even changed the windows settings to show all hidden files, but there is no .bat file anywhere. Instead, all I have are these files:

changelog.txt
client-res.jar
craft.conf
curio.conf
fep.conf
gluegen-rt.dll
gluegen-rt.jar
gluegen-rt-natives-windows-i586.jar
haven.conf
haven.jar
haven-res.jar
highlight.conf
jogl.dll
jogl.jar
jogl_awt.dll
jogl_cg.dll
jogl-natives-windows-i586.jar
smileys.conf
updater.jar
updater.log
windows.conf

I even opened every file (save for the .dll's) in editor and skimmed through the text, but unless I missed it, I found no text passage containing a url I could change. Any advice on what to do?

You need to make your own .bat file, it's easy to just open up notepad, copy paste the stuff above (and possibly tweak it to work for you) save as > all files > File name: chooseyourfilename.bat and save in the folder where your updater and haven.jar are.
