I too would like an exact step-by-step explanation of how to make the Ender client work.
I have an old Ender client (v20.01.14) which I used to play Haven and Hearth with a few years ago and which makes a lot of problems now. It refuses to work on my current PC with Windows 8, either giving me a 'Connection refused: connect' message when I try to log in or just crashing entirely, depending on whether I start the client with haven.jar or updater.jar. Incidentally It does kinda work on my super old PC (which is still running on XP), but the client crashes almost constantly and the map is all sorts of screwed up, which robs the game of any fun.
Now I understand that the problem lies with the now changed url (legacy.havenandhearth.com instead of moltke.seatribe.se) and that I need to change the url in the files. Most people say I have to change the run.bat file. Only problem is... I don't have that file. I've looked in my Ender client folder and I even changed the windows settings to show all hidden files, but there is no .bat file anywhere. Instead, all I have are these files:
changelog.txt
client-res.jar
craft.conf
curio.conf
fep.conf
gluegen-rt.dll
gluegen-rt.jar
gluegen-rt-natives-windows-i586.jar
haven.conf
haven.jar
haven-res.jar
highlight.conf
jogl.dll
jogl.jar
jogl_awt.dll
jogl_cg.dll
jogl-natives-windows-i586.jar
smileys.conf
updater.jar
updater.log
windows.conf
I even opened every file (save for the .dll's) in editor and skimmed through the text, but unless I missed it, I found no text passage containing a url I could change. Any advice on what to do?
