Postby messkaline » Mon Mar 06, 2017 9:41 pm

Hey,

1. Install latest(used jdk-8u121-macosx-x64.dmg) package downloaded from oracle.com.
2. Download JOGL libs version 2.1.2
3. Unpack and put the following files from dowтloaded archive into newly created dir "~/Library/Java/Extensions/":
Code: Select all
gluegen-rt-natives-macosx-universal.jar
gluegen-rt.jar
jogl-all-natives-macosx-universal.jar
jogl-all.jar

4. Run your client.

Played with Amber and Purus Pasta on OS X 10.11.6. :D

Hey, thanks for sharing.

The only client working for me on Mac is Ender. Every other one crashes when I try to log in.

Does it lag consistently to you too?

try to disable antialiasing.

yeah, but playing with display settings makes it a little bit better.

This might be due to Mac's poor performance with pretty much everything, except the screen.

Lag reduced when give more RAM like:
Code: Select all
/usr/bin/java -Xms2048m -Xmx4096m -jar hafen.jar -U http://game.havenandhearth.com/hres/ game.havenandhearth.com

Well I'm running an Hackintosh, I have quite a performing custom build, only the OS is Mac (due to its consolidated superiority in pretty much everything) so I don't think that's the case ;)

And @Messkaline removing anti-aliasing didn't work with fixing the lag, how do you enable that string you pasted?

Thanks

where you stuck? try to use custom game client like amber - looks like Mac OS libs is already included to game package.

Also to note: allocating more\less memory will destroy your saved map and marks to hell.

weird that people have performance issues. My 5 year old mac book air can run the game through the amber client with little problem. It's not amazing, but it's more than playable.
