Can't use any custom clients

Postby frostbitten1 » Sun Feb 25, 2018 8:24 pm

i can play the "official" client (autohaven) without any problems but i have a potato pc and getting a frame every 2 seconds (0.5 fps), thought that custom clients can improve that to a degree where i can play with more frames

problem is, when i try to execute any other custom clients with run.bat's, the command prompt appears for a split of a second and then nothing happens (ender, amber, romovs, purus pasta, etc.)

i updated my java back and forth
tried both version (32 and 64bit, tho i have 64 bit windows 7 installed in my pc)

tried different run.bat's to ensure that no fault comes from pathing issues

any ideas or possible solutions comes to your minds? thank ye in advance

Edit the .bat of the custom client and put a line with
Code: Select all
pause

at the end - save, run it, then post the output.

It only adds a line which says ; "Press any key to continue . . ." and when i do, it vanishes into thin air

Buy a new computer? I like crazy ideas.

Oh yeah editing as to why:
if you have 0.5fps on vanilla, chances are you'll get shitty fps even on a modded client.

In the same directory as where the bat file is open a command window.
Then type:

Code: Select all
cmd /k run.bat

From there you pretty much will see what it is. First most likely case is that it is unable to find your java which means you need to set your java home variable and probably update java at the same time for safe measures. Second problem you may have since you said you have a potato, is that the custom clients are unable to allocate enough space within the stack when the program is ran so you get a stack exception. In which case if it is this error, upgrade to at least a watermelon.
