I've taken a look and fiddled about a bit but can't really hack together a solution to get this running on my simple windows 10 server PC. Has anyone attempted and had any success in this area?
I don't really fancy learning a whole bunch of new tech, but I do fancy using this. :)

This is how they've always operated.

Their clients benefit them as well.
Their earlier clients use to have a "alarm" system. but if you meet any of their own members. the alarm would not go off, and you could not see their dots on the map.
Pretty sure they got in shit when they tried turning off the auto teleport as well.

Another client was used to steal everyone's user's and passwords.

Make sure to always look into the clients source before using anything ;)

That client was an internal fraction client originally that got some protection against unauthorized unwanted usage ... someone leaked it (those are to blame IMHO) ... and some others disabled the functionality of transfering account data by taking over the used email box later and locking it ... and to be fair: Apx and CarryGun made the Union public a little later ...

For some reason my client isn't sending the grids to the backend. Using Purus which works for other people.

getting this in the console

Code: Select all
Setting character grid -4548258263622711821 (-9, -9) null
No absolute coordinates for grid -4548258263622711821

while the game shows i do have abs coords

so it never gets to actually upload the grids.

If it's relevant, the grid I spawn on and set in the backend is 0,0 for me, but the grid id in the console log above is for 1,1

Did you try to restart the client after setting zero grid? You can also try to delete mapdata_index_global/mapdata_index_local files from the client folder.
The problem i see is that client cannot locate itself, therefore it is not sending anything

The "Login absolute coordinates" is actually an artifact left from the idea that on login server sends you non-obfuscated world coordinates (or maybe it is a bug). Try to move a little after the login and check if you will detect coordinates

Thanks for the quick reply. Here's a process I just did:

1. api/v1/cleanup
2. delete /map and mapdata_index_* from purus
3. login and check map session ids for current grid id
Image
4. set it as zero grid via api and check if it worked
Code: Select all
mapuser@vultr:~/hnh-map/public/grids$ cat mapdata_index
4250153279052149,0,0

5. close the client and relogin. nothing changed
6. walked around a bit, restarted client again, walked back to 0,0.. nothing changed

And I have a feeling this might be relevant. On relog it's setting character grid as 1,1 instead of 0,0

I'm having the same issue, stumbled through setting up an AWS instance and installing like a caveman, now that's working, set the zero point and attempted using Purus client to test but it can't seem to locate itself and start uploading tiles.
