Hurricane Client

Postby Nightdawg » Wed Oct 30, 2024 8:27 pm

Hi, here's just another client you can use to play this wonderful game.

Client Repo: https://github.com/Nightdawg/Hurricane

Discord Server: https://discord.gg/WnEYkeAzja

Steam Workshop: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/ ... 3423755273

Important Note:
- This client does not send any data to any place besides the official Seatribe server.

How To Play (info also found in the discord)

Downloading/Updating the Hurricane Client (Outside of Steam):
Use the Primitive Updater: https://github.com/Nightdawg/Hurricane/ ... ag/updater
--- OR ---
Manually download the latest release: https://github.com/Nightdawg/Hurricane/releases/latest

If the updater doesn't work:
Make sure your installed Java version is between 15 and 21.
You might need to add the updater file (HurricaneUpdater.bat) to your anti-virus exceptions list.

Launching the Hurricane Client (Outside of Steam):
Run the Play.bat file inside the client folder.
The client works with any java version between Java 15 - Java 21
I've also been playing on GraalVM 21 (some different open-source java distribution based on OpenJDK), and I seem to get like 15-20 extra FPS out of the client.

If the client doesn't launch:
Make sure your installed Java version is between 15 and 21.
You might need to add the launcher file (Play.bat) to your anti-virus exceptions list.

This client also supports Cediner's Web Map server (you set up your own private map server, it's not a public map):
https://github.com/Cediner/hnh-map-vuetify

If you need to reach out to me, it's much faster on discord.

Have fun.

Would it be possible to have a quick summary of what the client do without having to join the discord please?

There's tons of things this client does compared to Loftar's vanilla client. It would probably take me a few days to list all of them and I'd still forget some.

You're probably better off just going through it yourself and checking all settings, all windows, action buttons, etc.

This is the most incredible client I have ever seen. Pity we are enemies now.
Early world exploit: Put your hearthfire inside a cave, then hold shift to position a claim right in front of a cave. After 8 hours the claim will be unbreakable. Since your hearthfire is inside the cave, you can still get back inside, and leave, but nobody will be able to enter, effectively making you unraidable for the first 3-7 days. Enjoy

Would like to try it, but hardcoding it one one java-version is a nogo for me :D
"C:\Program Files\Java\jdk-15.0.2\bin\java.exe"
Tried to start it with java-21, crashed instantly

You can have multiple java versions installed on a machine, but also, you can use other clients too.
Idk if this client works on any other java versions, and I won't bother to support it. But the source code is there, so you can always try to make it work if you want to.

AWESOME client.
Now i just gotta afk for 4 hours to see if the lighting will change as the time passes.
That is not a thing on Ender, for some reason, and it's the only reason i use default client :')
