newb clothes values

Postby ninja_yodeler » Sat Apr 09, 2011 5:17 am

alright, this is an idea suggested ingame to me in W3 and i just remembered it when talking to the same guy the other day.

make the linen clothes, newsboys caps and top hats have a buff like the rest of the clothing,
you might all say no. because they are starters clothes and you should have to craft your own buff clothes.

well why not have it so that the starter clothes have a buff in whatever would be good, but for the buff to be actually working it must be above Q10, for the buff to be in effect, demonstrated below.

this way we have a use to make linen clothes and what not NOTE: BECAUSE THESE ARE STARTING CLOTHES, THERE BUFFS WILL ONLY COME INTO PLAY ABOVE Q10 e.g. if the base buff was 3, a q5 linen shirt would give 2 agility, but because they are starters it would have to be q15 =2 agility. although the devs might know a much better method, this is the one i know and will use.
LINEN- constitution and agility. agi, base buff=2, so q15=1, q 20=2, q50=4, q100=6
con-buff=basebuff=1. so,q15=0, q20=1, q50=2 ,q100=3

NEWSBOY'S CAP-psyche. base buff=1.5, so.q15=1, q20=1, q50=3, q100=4
HIGH HAT- charisma- but way minimal base buff=1, so. q15=0, q20=1, q50=2, q100=3
NOTE: TO WORK OUT THE STARTER CLOTHES BUFF, I USED THE METHOD:
q15=bb<basebuff> x sqrt( (Xq-10)/10)
i think that that would be the viable way, though feel free to correct me with a better solution

also, give the non noob clothes a buff
FOX HAT- gives an MM=base buff=3 so, q5=2MM, q10=3, q20=4

POOR MANS GLOVES-carpentry, small amount smithing, and/or dex. also speeds the process of foraging/removing stumps, and harvesting, carp buff=base buff=2.so, q10=2, q23=3, q40=4
NOTE: these gloves also slightly increase chance of getting WWS while woodworking
smithing buff=base buff=base buff=1. so,q10=+1,q40=+2q, q30=3

POORMAN'S BELT- agility, base buff=1.8.so, q10=1, q20=2, q30=3

TOGA: charisma base buff=3, so q5=2, q10=3, q20=4, q50=6

LEATHER CLOAK: psyche base buff=2, so q10=2, q23=3, q40=4

HIDE CLOAK: survival, base buff=2.5, so. q10=2, q20=3, q50=5, q100=7

HIRDSMAN CAPE: UA &charisma= UA base buff=2,so. q10=2, q23=3, q40=4
charisma base buff=2.5,so. q10=2, q20=3, q50=5,q100=7

HIRDSMAN HELMET: UA and melee: UA base buff=2,so. q10=2, q23=3, q40=4
Melee base buff:=2,so. q10=2, q23=3, q40=4

because these are all relativly easy to get they might only give a very small buff until you get some good quality into them :D

I'd say the linen clothes are pretty useless atm, but really dont add big buffs to any of the items, small ones would be good enough I suppose.

thats what i tried to get across. but most definite of all would be NO INT BUFF

im sick of everyone wanting everything to affect int, we got along fine without everything being int before and we will now. eat a bluueberry.

also we totally need fox hat buffs because i love my hat :D

imo every item should have some kind of buff. think of how many useless items there are:

linen clothes, toga, hide cloak, leather cloak, fox hat, poor man gloves, poor man belt, and probably some others i've forgotten because they are useless.

i forgot about toga.

ill add it to OP i reckon it would be a charisma thing, and the poormans gloves also give me an idea that i wont post coz its not important i suppose, but smiths gloves that give a smithing buff. poormans gloves would do this to but to a way lesser extent

EDIT: also sab, is their a proper formula for working out how many points an item buffs, if so please post it here and ill try to work out some reasonable buffs for the clothes

I'd definitely love it if every item had a buff, it would make it so they would be useful for something other than aesthetics.
I like apple juice.
