New Biomes

Postby dvsfx92 » Tue Nov 19, 2013 8:27 pm

Been awile since I actually played H&H I can't imagine what I've missed:D had some ideas I wrote down aegis ago kind of wish I could compile them all into a single thread but from what I recall they must be streamlined.
So without further ado what i would like to suggest is a few new biomes and factors corresponding with each first off
Desert (sandy) - Consisting of sand dunes salt marshes and very few landmarks the desert is a place where few venture and even fewer survive.
Their Is lots that can be done with this biome from things like heat exposure effecting your thirst sand slowing move speed to mirages maybe things appear on your minimap or edge of screen but as you approach they vanish into air.
Resources in the desert can be scarce surface water only forms at the basin of mountains and natural aquifers are far less common, trees are virtually non-existent seek refuge in caves if available.
As of means of consumption to obtain energy your going to have to work a little harder to find a meal out here tortoise though rare can make a mean soup also be on the look out for armadillos, coyote, scorpions, snakes and wasps.
Flora is a good indicator that a possible watersource is near by
When encountering a sandstorm it is best to bunk down if the surrounding area is unknown

Jungle - This area is densely populated with trees and brush be sure to pack a machete. The jungle is an area that one does not venture into needlessly although abundant in natural wildlife it has many lurking and unsuspecting dangers anything that is not a mammal is probably venomous and anything thats a mammal will put up a fight or be rather difficult to catch that being said because this biome is rather hard to traverse need not worry of it being picked clean just watch your footing it is not the best place to suffer from an injury.

This isn't a fucking roleplay diary subforum. If you're going to have ideas, don't say "you have to watch your footing", just put the idea and mechanics out there and let them decide.
Already suggested, and stupid ideas if you ask me.

Well I don't remember asking and I don't really know why you seem to value your opinion so highly since you didnt even bother to back yours up with anything like the biomes that exist are ther because they are situated in te real life are the game is based on all you really did was try and take a dump on an idea because of the way I worded it? Maybe if you practice communicating with people in a more civilized manner instead of acting like a neanderthal you can better prepare yourself for reallife. This is a cool game don't give it a bad rep for a toxic pb and besides acting out like you do over a forum post makes me pity you

What? lol
all i'm saying is that i don't think new biomes would make any kind of positive impact on the game, especually not at this point. and yes, if you're making ideas word it better, at least. If you're going to say 'watch your footing' in a C&I post at least say how one is supposed to do that, where does it come in, in the game. And i don't value my own opinion specially highly, I just don't like these ideas at all.
For example: be sure to pack a machete. First, wheres a machete? Second, you aren't making a tutorial how to surv4ve jungles, you're making an idea to add jungles.
In my opinion better worded as 'jungle biome, can only be walked through if machete item equipped, crawl speed, chance of a monster popping up like a troll when you're cutting through it'. Something like this just looks mire like av idea, less like a roleplay diary. But yeah, way of saying it aside, I don't really agree with this getting in. No gain to the game at all from it, its like adding more versions of rattle tattle talisman. Doeasn't feel right.

Oh and btw if theres sandstorms, no water and barely any animals, lower speed and faster stamina lpss, why would you think anyone would use this atall? It's a game, not sure why realism is a good thing. Oh, and try adding 'very few survive' as a mechanic.
