Alt Vaulting

Postby xweetok59 » Tue Nov 23, 2010 6:46 pm

I don't know if this was suggested before, but i can't search for it because i don't really now what to type in the search bar.

Maybe it is better if the person who used Theft/Vandalism can't open 2 accounts to alt vault, or the alt can't pick up the items his main dropped or something until the scents vanish.

Because it's very anoying when you finally kill the thief or hired a ranger for it, but then you see the items were alt vaulted.

Well, this was my idea.

I hate to admit it, but I think xweetok actually has a point here. Loftar suggested a long time ago that characters probably should drop everything in their inventory when they log of or that you can at least steal everything they carry at their hearthfire. Now that we have a proper ingame storage method with strongboxes I think it might be good to introduce it to the game.

this would be fine except see-through mods make it hard to hide things, so it would need jorb's hidden caches

I could agree with the hearthfire idea. But dropping everything when you log off just seems very bothersome? no logging off in a hurry if you have to do stuff, like i dunno take a shit or whatever.

well, you can track stolen items to a hearthfire, maybe you should be able to open the inventory through the hearthfire if you have a scent that points to any item in that character's inv? i don't particularly like the idea of anyone being able to steal stuff from your inventory by raiding your hearthfire if you haven't been involved in any criminal activity.

Gilbertus' client, and anythign that allows for see through just spoil and freaking RUIN the game. If one thing should be impossible it should be X-Ray vison. I hate the fact that this has been brought onto H&H.

lets compare sight mods and which might be damaging to the game:

  • lighthack is a necessary tool used to make the game tolerable
  • larger window is a necessary tool used to make the game tolerable
  • seethru removes any form of ingame stealth and might even prompt them to implement bullshit like invisibility
