A late Christmas gift for the player base? :)

Postby Tacheron » Wed Dec 22, 2010 5:57 am

I was thinking how we don't get stuff implemented on a regular basis anymore (not bitching, just observing) and I wondered how much of these suggestions are actually read by Loftar and Jorb so I got to thinking how it would be a really nice gesture on their part if they could find the time to implement ONE of all these suggestions that we've been making recently. Ofc, it should be one that isn't too hard to implement.

So which idea do YOU think deserves this? Post a link to ONE idea and name the title, as such:

viewtopic.php?f=5&t=13342 "Strength and Lifting" (I chose this one since I believe it would improve the efficiency of everyone and I THINK it only needs a bit of coding since the basic idea of the formula/code/whatever would be similar to swimming) The idea is summarized in this quote:

sabinati wrote:you should be able to use any movement speed while carrying stuff, but the sqrt of str and con should determine stamina drain rate while moving above crawl

If we band together and enough people vote, I'm hoping that the idea with the most votes might get put into the game before new year's day :)

are you really asking them to code for you during the holiday season

we might get something but i doubt it would have anything to do with you asking for it or - pardon me while i lmfao! - voting

I'd rather we just get motherfucking minks /mink breeding and have the first mink item be a santa suit.

Don't think they own anybody anything, other than maybe a "thank you" for willing to participate and put up with a alpha project. (well ... thats for most of the users of course.)

However ... for the possible future, a nice gift (also to them self) would be some real bug reporting system. ... http://trac.edgewall.org/ perhaps :D

Or some (locked) HnH Dev Blog topic would be nice to.
If I'm correct about the current game/coding stage ... there focused on rewriting parts of the main core-code of the game. That also means there is no real point to add anything to the current game until thats done. Other than major bug fixes to keep things flowing and/or some general changes to see how they work out.

And keeping the players happy while we wait several months with only rare, minor updates. Not that they need to keep us happy; anyone who doesn't like how things are can always leave. They certainly don't owe us anything, but if they could add a feature or two that we'd all like with minimal amounts of time/effort to make us happier, why not? I don't think they should waste time on redoing the combat system with haste, but there are plenty of little things that couldbe added to make the game that much better for all of us. Even something simple like reskinning the keyring and making it hold parchments instead of keys as a new "notepad" item or something. Useless, but people would probably use it anyway and be happy for some kind of update.

Jorb started that some time ago, but stopped writing anything after 2 or 3 entries.

Maybe we will get some nice christmas item. Like pumpkins for Halloween last year or the birthday hats and cakes for h&hs birthday.
