So I was thinking. what about some kind of dangerous outer zones? when/if the map get expanded I mean. what this would/could mean?
1. no maps in the outer arcs, but you can use cartography.
2. animals are alot less uncommon, but a helluva lot tougher out there, making it a viable place to go.
3. your more likely to see horrible terrifying things out there, maybe dryads attack you, trolls live out there, and the spirits of lost hearthlings rise from the evil grounds of the outers to strike out at those foolish enough to hunt or explore there.
4. things can get unpredictable out there, local maps without villages or personal claims inside them change randomly, the rivers still line up, but the cliffs disappear, maybe the way the river is shaped changes slightly, land types change type, shape, or vanish completely.
5. if there is another grid extension, maybe the old outers become mapped and the new outer grids take on this strange effect.
This, to me, seems that it would be a rather large and difficult undertaking, but may add a bit of excitement to exploration. or hell maybe just the regions touching the edges of the outer grids.
plz discuss, and I would understand if you hate it.
