revamp of bones ql from animals

just a suggestion for game balance, if you like the old one more of have a better idea about the formula, just shoot.

right now it kinda to easy to get high ql bones form animals, with this new formula it changes to pretty hard to get ql200bones.

current formula = (animalbone base ql + (surv/2))= bone quality
max ql with softcap => ql200

new formula

sq(animalbone base ql*(surv/2)) = bone ql
and without softcap
reason:
with ql 100 bones from animal
10surv = ql22bones
200 surv =100ql bones
500surv = 158ql bones
1000surv = 223ql bones

with ql 200 bones from animal
10 surv = 32ql bones
200surv = 141 ql bones
1000surv = 316ql bones

conclusion, the bones ql is more dependant on the ql of the animal than survival
with the old formula you would get a ql 105bone from a bear with 10 suvival => BIG difference.

breeding of animals will be more important once they reach high levels (however this doesnt matter any since farming is nerfed)
this will also postpone the end game for a bit longer since ql 200 bones wont be as easy to get than before, unles the bone ql of bears get changed to 200.

Bone q of bears *is* 200, and this would just make botting even better.

I thought the base ql of bear bones was ql100 and ql200 with 200 survival.
from wiki => BearLevel*10+Survival/2

Wiki is wrong. Survival softcaps bone q, it can't raise it beyond it's natural maximum.

I think Bear bones needs to come down significantly in quality, Bear bone of over 100 is readily available to most player's within the first week of the new world and it's quality is far our of proportion to anything else they have access too. Bear Bone starts acting as an accelerator for the whole quality ladder, primarily through bone saws which is a big factor causing all the bucket grinding but also through every other bone using recipe. It's also just bad flavor when bone is the material which stands above all others in quality, making things from Bone is cave-man level technology and should have the feel of a low level stepping-stone rather then as a valuable staple commodity. Something near 30 would be perfectly reasonable.

I couldn't agree more. As things are now, livestock bone will *never* beat bear bone, and that's just wrong considering how much effort it takes to raise good cattle vs the effort it takes to kill a bear.

thats a fact, but chickens livestock does increase pretty fast, right?
somewhere on the forum, i saw that there where ql 300+cocks in w3.

Nah, chickens are actually slightly slower. They're more reliable, though, because you get a lot more chicks than calves, so you're pretty much guaranteed maximum q jump each generation, but on the flipside sorting chickens is a LOT more work than sorting cattle.

AFAIK best chickens last world were around q170.

ANd in either case, it's not an issue of how long it takes to raise the q, the problem is that it's hardcapped by soil quality, and I've never heard of a soil spot with quality over 200, or even near 200.
