Relic race idea

Postby overtyped » Sun Jan 13, 2013 11:18 pm

This idea would be similar to stronghold kingdoms.
Relics will spawn randomly in the world, Having a relic on village property increases quality or some sort of production, and also like stronghold kingdoms, each village will compete in a glory race and having relics will generate village points each month, with a scoreboard. The race would have to last about a year, at the end of it the winners get special non obtainable items like wizards hats or wolf cloaks. Then after 2 years the world resets, but the winners get to keep the special items.
- Every month the relics will despawn randomly in the world.
- There should be some sort of tracking ability to find them, this will make pvp and village sieging a big thing.
- There should be a ingame world map fully explored and updated

Also if you don't want to join the relic race you can just do exactly what your doing now, masterbating while putting more curios in your curio tab then logging off for 2 days.

If you want to add or improve the idea, post your thoughts here.
Early world exploit: Put your hearthfire inside a cave, then hold shift to position a claim right in front of a cave. After 8 hours the claim will be unbreakable. Since your hearthfire is inside the cave, you can still get back inside, and leave, but nobody will be able to enter, effectively making you unraidable for the first 3-7 days. Enjoy

I like your supporting statements that back up why you think it sucks, and your many references of better ideas.

The idea sounds similar to this one.

Yeah its similar, i really like both. Really anything to make a real endgame rather than the stagnant sewage it is, would be good.

I just don't like it. But that's just my cheap opinion.

OK, I don't know that much about computer games and what-not..but from what I gathered, wouldn't a "sandbox" game have no end-game? Thus it being a sand-box?

That is--after-all--what Haven and Hearth is; a sandbox game.

There is a endgame already buddy, its called masterbating while putting curios in curio tab, then logging off for a few days. Did you even read my post? Right now all you do in the game is this. A game needs some sort of goal, you don't have to participate in the goal, and thats what a sandbox game is. Again, this game has no goal besides making your right hand stronger from beating your meat out of sheer boredom.

The goal is to build something great and be better off then everyone else (or rape and pillage until all have ragequit), not to finish the game, there is no finish. like salem, topia online, alot of RPG's, MMO's, Sandboxes.

Development on Haven has continued, continues and will continue as per usual, although with the less than weekly updates that you have witnessed for the past four months or so. As soon as Salem is released, we intend to bring the development of Haven back up to normal speed.

Maybe you should get that hand exercising..you seem to be pretty tense.

But I actually don't play the game. I just frequent the forums every so often just to see if by some miraculous chance Jorb and Loftar have returned to do something with the game.
