alcohol tolerance

Thoughts on the further development of Haven & Hearth? Feel free to opine!

alcohol tolerance

Postby mightybagelz » Wed Jul 10, 2013 4:17 am

I feel that everyone drinking the same amount and getting the same effects from alcohol could be altered. Wouldn't it make more sense for a lightweight to take a dirt nap faster than the guy with the iron liver? My thought is that the more you drink the harder it would become to receive the same buffs at a later time. Requiring more alcohol to gain the same effects. Also, think of the drinking contests!

Wouldn't it make a bit of sense for your drinking habits to be taken into account as well? Sure the big guy can drink more naturally, but if the little guy has a higher tolerance wouldn't that come into play?

Realism =/= good gameplay mechanic.

Something has to have meaningful and interesting impacts on the game for it to be worth adding as a mechanic. "It's more realistic" doesn't really fly for me unless it adds something too.

And while this is more realistic... I don't really see it making the game more fun.

I usually fly on the side of realism, I feel that realism adds enjoyability to a game. different strokes for different folks I guess.

same thing that popped in my head when I read that...always thought it was a set number of drinks and nothing else affected it(and have never seen anything in game to prove otherwise)

I do sort of like the idea of an alcohol tolerance...would add a chance for more alcohol buffs if you're able to drink more but not quite be as drunk. I can just see an "I'm ok to drive" buff :lol:

So that's why my main with high agj (but higher con) only loses 20 ish TW from a glass of wine, wheras my farmer with 15 agj and 7 con loses about 50?

dammit.

And also, if my main has amour on he loses no TW!

Con effects the alcohol buff, not the weariness. Agility effects that.
