Moth catching

Postby Raephire » Sun Nov 01, 2009 9:19 pm

Clicking moths is difficult enough, let alone catching up to them, bypassing all the trees and praying it doesn't go somewhere you can't. This is a hassle even IF you are lucky enough to catch one wandering, and after all this you are lucky if you find them of the opposite sex.

This is a hassle. A huge disgusting hassle. So I say the hassle should be reduced.

There should be nets that you build in your farm that trap a single moth. You make it with materials including honey and they are good for one moth, after you harvest the moth it's destroyed.

It could require a moth to fly near it but I advise against that since moths aren't exactly common. So instead I suggest that it work similar to a dream catcher. Only take quite a while.

While this would be a time consuming tool it would allow someone to set it up and forego the stress for the cost of convenience. The cost being this - Slow rate, no guarantee of sex.

At any rate this would make life easier for the average farmer who wishes to go into sericulture.

Or just reduce the speed at which they fly and the radius they fly around in. Keeping them centralized in a grassland area where they can't fly off into forests and whatnot so you have plenty of open room to chase them in.

That always works too. Either way changes must be made, because they are sparse, far too sparse.

Come on, once you caught two you never have to catch them again. This is rather an very unnecessary gimmick than something useful.

Bullshit. I catch scores of them with ease. :)

Odd, indeed. Even I catch them with ease, and Raephire is obviously more of a gamer than I am.

I have trouble clicking on them sometimes... I can usually catch them if I'd dedicated though, but now I have my eggs I seldom bother
