Flour Barrels

My suggestion is simple: allow barrels to store flour.

Say that one unit of flour is equal to a liter worth of capacity used. Using a unit of flour on a barrel fills it as normal, and averages out the quality of the flour inside, like other 'liquids' do. Rightclicking withdraws a unit of flour. Pretty simple, I think.

It'd allow much more storage of flour, and far simpler trading with it (would anyone even buy 100 units of flour?). Averaging the values would probably balance out the advantages of having no bad flour, with losing out on having the good flour. You would still need to add and remove single units at a time, so it shouldn't be super efficient. Better capacity than a cupboard, but slower.

That's about it!

I like it, I've thought about the idea of making powders act similar to liquids. The only main issue is that flour would then need a vessel to be used with. Although this would be beneficial for bakers, as they'd just have their bucket of flour and their other ingredients in their inventory, instead of having the flour take up inventory slots as well.

Yeah and and a small chance that the Flour inside the barrel get mold and becomes useless, that would be great.

Too bad we don't have rye and ergot poisoning. Burn the witch! (I guess that's more suited to Salem?) ;)

Or you can do like the wine and to stop it from molding you can put it in a different container that uses glass and wax. however, i for one would LOVE this ... as a farmer and cook i need the space right now i am using the top floor of a mansion to hold my flour and i had to stop harvesting do to the lack of space.

I hadn't considered going all the way with it, but if making flour buckets a thing is cool, that's even better, and probably is simpler to just make it a liquid fully then.

We don't have Vinegar spoil, or Water go bad, or Milk go rotten. Why punish Flour, of all things? (Wine is Wine and yeah).

Because this is Haven, and we cant have nice things.

Im on the fence with this idea though. Yes, it would make storage of large amounts of flour more convenient, and preparing baked goods would be easier...

But I just dont see a reason to store so much flour in the first place. 2-4 cupboards of flour is my max, and if Im somehow baking so little that it doesnt get used by the next harvest of wheat, it gets dropped onto the ground. Why store what isnt going to be used?

Milk doesnt spoil. The only actual use for Denijohns is to keep wine as wine without using buckets.

They had flour barrels in salem. I'm sure if/when loftar gets done monkeying with the server guts he will add it in haven too.
