This post is bound to cause controversy, but let me say that this is more about critique than an applicable idea. In that sense, I'm only describing my experience in H&H, not what is common, or what is "literally" true, or what is the case for three or four specific players.
And keep in mind that If there ever is a suggestion that is immediately and obviously wrong in every way, one of three things is true: 1: the suggester is a troll, and thus wants you to angrily respond. 2: J&L are neither idiots nor robots, and will quite certainly ignore the suggestion entirely. 3: J&L like the suggestion, in which case you are in no position to disagree.
That all said, I present a short list of things that, as far as I can tell, don't exist:
Silver and Gold mines:
In fact I've never seen so much as any mine entrance, but I accept that copper, tin, and possibly iron mines exist because I've been able to acquire their products, or in the case of iron I've at least interacted with brick walls.
As for silver and gold, though, they have never had any effect on my gameplay.
I have only very rarely seen threads about gold and silver for sale- in fact, roughly the same rate as I see threads about goon-killing mercenaries and Q10 mulberries, so they could easily be trolling.
Jewelry:
Very hard to make something out of something that doesn't exist. And look at what the supposed effects are: Silver for the Ferryman- oh, a nice trinket to prevent extremely high-level characters from drowning. Or was this supposed to be accessible to players with CON below 40? We all know Jorb loves to joke, people.
Cavebulbs:
Caves do not exist. You may hear some trolls talking about exploring them, and you may even see glitches where dark spots appear on claimed cliffsides- but nobody actually owns any "caves", and they can't be "found" anywhere but inside claims. Obviously there is a glitch where cliffsides occasionally get discolored when inside claims.
Cavebulbs are thus even rarer than our nonexistant jewelry.
PSI:
While the stat exists on the UI, let's make note that first of all, the only thing it's been said to affect is the quality of an item that doesn't exist, and second of all it comes from a food product that also doesn't exist.
Technically, one might get PSI from eating bagels, but the odds of that are pretty low. Obviously annother devilish Jorby trick!
Blaze:
Sure, there's a user named "Blaze" and he claims that he's one of the strongest players in the game. But he also claims to visit caves, mine gold, wear jewelry, and have psi. Then there's the fact that when questioned about what he's done lately, he claims that he's been kept off because his inventory window is broken.
A LIKELY STORY!
Delamore:
Like Blaze, he claims to have an immensely powerful character, but also claims to use blatantly nonexistent things. In fact, he's claimed to have had an entire class of imaginary jewelry- the alleged monocle- entirely to himself until recently! I suspect that Delamore is a myth proped up by several co-operating goons. An elaborate trolling operation, perhaps.
Ents\nymphs:
All other creatures in H&H are realistic or at least inspired by reality. The fact that players can't even agree on a name for these mysterious appearances only lends credence to skepticism. These claimed "sightings" are merely noobs misinterpreting trees, mistaking other players, or perhaps mistaking the antlers on deer for branches.
Loftar:
Sure we may see him post on occasion, but who's really posting those comments? I think it's obvious that Jorb is the only dev here, and Loftar is either a complex prank, an imaginary friend, or an outright separate personality to what we call Jorb. Or perhaps the other way around.
