Public Claims!

Pretty much, they declaim an area of a village. You place the claim, which looks like a planter box, and you claim the area for no cost. Inside a public claim, things can be taken from containers, but can't be picked up, and only village members can build there. These could be used to make markets. If you place something in a vending stand on one of these claims, you own the stand, and you have to have thieving to take things. Once there are no items for a solid 3 mins, the vending stand is open once more. The Chieftain can unclaim these vending stands at will, to prevent griefing. You like?

Core concept yes, Though I'm not sure I like the mechanics you propose I'm not sure I understand them.

in other words, an area where you can plant publicly useable apple trees, ovens, smelters, etc. without fearing them griefed.

not a new suggestion beyond tying it village influence which isn't a really bad idea. It would be particularly useful for this newbie village with mine idea moria and I are working on.

simply adding more claim permissions and improving village management is better than whatever the hell this is

1. what color will be used for "declaiming"
2. why seperate from claimstake
3. why no cost
4. so its identical to a normal claim except that you can use containers!!1
5. special!! vending rules

[ ] Allow kin to use objects
[ ] Allow kin to remove objects
[ ] Allow kin to destroy objects
