New Lategame: The Sea

As it is now, the late game PvE consists out of putting on dual HQ thanes, walking into a forest and genociding the various fauna, including bears, that reside almost peacefully together. At some point this gets stale and a bored Wayneville goes out pillaging villages as everyone slowly quits.

And, I also realize that will take a while.

So, in the meantime, could you add something that we can kill other than what we have?
current prey is getting annoying :(

However, this game has a refreshing realistic take to it so I suppose that bears are the largest and strongest land mammals. But let me get one thing straight. The game is set in a location with coniferous trees and bears are the largest creatures that exist? That's just a giant WTF?

Turn supergrids to the right/left of center into ocean squares or just add new ones. Add several new boats because row-boats just won't do. Ability to craft harpoons and battle drums. Larger ships can fit both. The smallest harpoon boat should require a minimum of three people to man. One navigator/harpoon operator and two rowers. (passengers who get stamina drain, STR, CON and AGI checks to get the speed of your boat) Boats with drums can have musicians which can make the rowers never get tired and row faster and just generally play sweet drums. Whale combat can be cool and bloated too. Every passenger gets a combat meter with general combat progress and their own personal effort. Rowers get rowing options, navigator gets harpoon combat options and drummer gets drumming options. It should take the cooperation of the whole boat to bring a low-level whale down. High-level whales should be suicide for anything but the most retardedly-powerful boats and boat crews. Also, when you're not whaling you can cast nets and get awesome seafish and fight giant squids and what not.

Cool bloat: Add weather (dangerous storms) to ocean squares. Every time your ship enters a storm square, your ship takes one decay hit. You can't fast-travel off of ships. If a ship decays, it creates a wreckage. Procedurally generate bad weather on both client and server so that server doesn't have to send a lot of weather data to every client. Storms should move in some logical manner so I suppose that this would be quite a programming hurdle. Storms should also spawn higher level fish and mammals based on proximity. CAN YOU MASTER THE WEATHER?

New whale-related abilities:
Ascension to Asgard. Uses up a whole whale carcass to make you a champion of Odin. Death penalty is significantly reduced. Welcome to late-game PvP.

Bear Trap. Whale blubber + baleen. When placed on forest terain for an in-game week, the trap turns into a bear carcass. The quality of the carcass depends on the quality of the trap.

See this will make he game huge. It could possily be fun to be a pirate and steal someones catch but the fact it the game world would be huge and we would need a lot of people. And these ideas you gave us show that this would only be a thing used by villages which would promote civilization. I do think we should get a bit of a bigger boat that can pull a net behind it to get more fish.

What?

And these ideas you gave us show that this would only be a thing used by villages which would promote civilization.

What?

I'm completely lost to how either statement is true; and if true why they would be bad.

The game has doubled the logged in players this week. The world is getting overpopulated already. We NEED new grids!

I understand that we do. But that is sure to not come as soon as we would like it.

I'd like an In-Game map marked "Here there be DRAGONS" to be literal. :P

Haven & Hearth is [...] set in a fictional world loosely inspired by Slavic and Germanic myth and legend.

I acknowledge the inclusion of "loosely inspired", but some medieval mystical beasties to find and slay would be just grand. :D

Jorb has posted dragon sprites, and we have seen in-game trolls a time or two. It is probably coming.
