Birch bark.

I think, the birch-bark can be more useful in game.
Now it uses only for kuksa and some fishing lure.
In Ancient Russia birch bark was very accessable material and it was used for crafting many useful things like

'tuesok' - a little container for berries and other stuff
'korob' (box|basket) - a bigger container than 'tuesok'
'lapti' (bast shoes) - kind of boots, also can be made from rope, bass etc.

also, birch bark was used for crafting decorations, toys and QUIVERS (!)

and one of the important main roles of 'beresta' (birch bark) was using it for WRITING notes and documents - i think it will be useful in game, because leather parchments are hard and expensive to made.

Thank you,
Sorry for my english.

Nothing is wrong with your English (almost better then some that post here) and this has some merrit, though can't see it being looked at for Ideas anytime soon. Birch Bark is a paper thin like material, so yeah I could see it being used as a parchment, perhaps Birch Parchment decays even in Containers, while Leather Parchment will last forever (well until world end anyway)
[Politics] The word was derived by the joining of two others, Poli - A Latin word meaning Many. And Tics - Annoying Bloodsucking Parasites...

writing on birch bark (береста) and chisels were mentioned already in the runestone map thread, but was pretty much ignored :(

yeah, I'd also like to see a tuesok (туесок) and a birch bark box (короб), as the russian words for "box" (короб) and "bark" (кора) are related.
bast shoes would be a really cool beginner's footwear (easy to craft, don't need lumberjacking or leather-working to craft) - I'd love to see them.

also, in Russia we drink birch juice (its not a joke!) - very tasty and healthy drink.

its flow from birch after you make a wound in it, but flows in early spring only.

well, a little container in your inventory (1x1) only for blueberries and chantrelles wouldn't be so bad... (or more inventory space in general)
and these bast shoes sounds good too.
