Mailbox

A simple mailbox. You can build it close to your claim and everybody can put a parchment into it. And maybe only the owner can open it.

I vote large wax tablets made of wooden frame and beeswax, like a runestone but temporary messages. I thought that's what runestones were when I first started playing, and was disappointed to learn differently.

You can easily make one by using parchment/basket. My village has a post office system already.

Cheaper, reusable, and it's not exactly incredibly beneficial so it shouldn't be expensive. Wax tablets are also fitting to the game's time period, and would provide a new use for beeswax.

cheaper? a wax tablet requires access to wheat to make a beehive, wax output is finite, and it would require a board or boards.

a parchment requires a rabbit skin and a drying rack.

no need to draw and code in a new item that accomplishes the same purpose.

...whoops. I've never made parchment, and apparently I overestimated the cost. Still, reusability is a good thing. They could be used for noticeboards.

Edit: never mind, I think I like this idea better. http://www.havenandhearth.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=6256
