Try to view the first hours without all the knowledge you`ve got by now, its actually quite fun to get all those new skills in a pretty fast order, i think this is ok.
Besides the steep learning curve and disappointments due to lack of tutorials ( starving because you don`t know how easy it is to "hunt" rabbits, falling to the ground because your boots got destroyed and you don`t know how to make new ones etc. ), the beginning is fine. Add some more Beginnersinfo, the how-tos involve baking, smelting ore and tons of other stuff you can easily figure out/read about until you got there, but lack fundamental basics like the ones i mentioned or:
- uhm, just started, im trying to be a good rpler, so i build a bouchbed, some cover, some baskets, got me some axes ( one might think they`re really primitive and break soon ), collected some cones ( how should i know i wont need them like forever, its one of the first things i stumble upon ), and now i want to fish, because theyve probably got me that rod for a reason!
"needs fully equipped fishing rod"
End of story.
You don`t know whats missing, you don`t know how to aquire bone material, you don`t know you need a string, you don`t even know how to get strings, and i wont even start about bait which is not mentioned anywhere nor crafting options for lure that are beyond your abilities for days of playing.
Heck, give em a spear instead of that, those have been used for fishing thousands of years earlier.
Generally, get some logic into the starting abilities. I cant butcher a rabbit the right way without hunting? Ok for me. I cant pick up a freaking rabbit without hunting? thats ridiculous.
I can`t shove my hand in some mud and build some sandcastles without studying mining? Ask some 2year olds about that. Im pretty sure everyone could add loads to this list.
The original clients low resolution in combination with aggressive boars finishs the job:
Excellent chances to die once or twice until you figure that stuff out, THESE are the wasted hours of playing you should worry about.
