Learning Points Cap

Postby Niacide » Sun Jun 13, 2010 3:34 am

Yesterday I was looking though forum when I saw a topic discussing a cap to be placed on combat skills. I personally Don't agree with the idea of a stat cap, however the complaints about grinding caught my attention. Grinding is not what this game is about, and grinders can really suck the incentive out of playing the game.

Back on topic,
My idea is a cap on how many learning points your character can get per day. Let's say around 20 000 LP per 24 hours (real time) . A cap would make it impossible to benefit from grinding AND give players that are getting tons of LP cap to consider changing from their beliefs to Tradition.

a man need only strike another to make him evil."

Just stop. Don't do it. Don't ask why not, just reflect on how badly formed the idea is.

the latest announcement speaks of a system dramatically different to LP.
I suggest postponing all discussion until you have concrete information about that system.

Otherwise this is just going to be a thread of irrelevence and flame

OK let's say you hit that 20k. What are you going to do after you hit the limit? Everything else done will be ineffiecient because you are doing it all for no gain. If anything, it makes the whole system move at a crawling rate.
If you keep focusing on the shadow behind, you will not see the light in front of you.

Being successful isn't just about hard work and succeeding, it is also about picking yourself up when you fail.

You are joking right? You can make more than 20k an hour just with farming, not to mention a long hunting session.
