I dug some worms and put them in a container. Then I waited for about a week. Then I looked in that container and I was surprised. Worms were still alive!
I believe worms should die in a container if there is no soil in it.

Like what gardeners use; they put worms and soil in a tank and let it process the soil, so the soil quality improves over time (which would be really useful for treeplanting). It would also make earthworms more useful as now they are too tedious to dig up soley for fishing and don't have much purpose otherwise.

These are actually called Compost Bins and require a certain type of worm as it's urine is useful as a fertilizer.

If it doesn't boost it a lot and is capped it can work side-by-side with the current system.

Thinking of the race between the turtle and rabbit story, why not place a cap it can go no further than the highest quality soil spot in haven, while implementing a slow quality increase over a long period of time. (like tree's but much much slower maybe 1 year to hit cap). This way whether you find a HQ spot, or create one, both would be hard to acquire, but neither would be exclusive.
