Unless I'm wrong, can't you just plow it and wait for it to turn to forest tile? Or does it turn back to grass (which, if it does is kinda stupid)?

forest tiles don't convert to grass if there are trees nearby...

1)That's not completely true, I've seen spaces inbetween trees where trees aren't placed AS CLOSE AS POSSIBLE together turn into grass. For example if there are more than 8 or so tiles inbetween the trees, grass comes along inbetween, ruining my forests.

2)loftar stated that being able to lay forest will never happen, which makes sense, you can't replant the roots and stuff.

3)Trees should do this, they should continually send their roots out, they shouldn't take over the grass, no. However they should close all the little spots inbetween on the forest when you plant a new one.

As it stands now if I wish to get rid of the grass I plant trees throughout all of it, this is all fine and good, however trees don't turn EVERYTHING around them into forest, they have a random chance to turn some of them to forest, so I'm still left with a lot of grass and it can take generations of trees to get rid of it, if I could plant the first generation and leave it there, why shouldn't that suffice?

I reckon trees should have a larger "forest" radius, or maybe make it a little sticky, so multiple trees close together increase each others radiuses.

I'm cool with making grassed over areas hard to turn into forests though... That's a nod to realism right there

Well... no. The grass growth doesn't happen close to trees.

its not that the grass is spreading into tree space where there planted and are growing its to area where the not like inside village walls so during the period between one tree being planted to another you slowly end up with grass in tree farm space which cant be returned to the forest ground and area inside the wall slowly becomes devoid of forest tile and replaced with grass tiles which lead to my suggestion to forest tiles being plant-able as just a solution and more of a control to those who quite frankly do not like its spread over the area around there village
My friends are those who stand beside me, My enemies are those who stand against me, Those in between are innocent
I swear to protect my friends and the innocent from my enemies
So my question is Who Are You?

For the record, a grassy area with many trees will also regrow into forest tiles.

I am not sure, after reading all of this, if a solution has been found, but... How about an option to remove grass from a tile?
