Really like this idea and was about to post it myself, killed a boar for the first time today and thought, "I wish I could mold clay into bullets for my sling instead of having to chip stones".

So I support this wholeheartedly.

Supporting this idea, but how about just making bullets crafted from stones, but otherwise be functionally identical? It'd help balance the boost slings would get from having an ammo container while also eliminating the roadbuilding problem.

I don't think pouches should be added simply because slings have the advantage of giving you the ability to have a backpack and a traveller's sack. That balances out bow users and sling users nicely.

Just saiyan but if the bullet pouch takes a hand slot how are you going to load the sling? JUST SAIYAN.

I'm gonna go ahead and say I like the belt pouch idea however it should work just like a quiver, you can't take anything out. 100 bullets seems a bit high, 40 seems a bit low for the damage and size of them, 60 would be a nice somewhat middle ground for it.

  • Don't call them bullets
  • When you're slinging someone, metal might hurt a little more than stone, but stone doesn't calculate IEMM or damage in the first place so...
  • They should hold WAY more, and what 'type' shouldn't change how much they hold
  • Quality affecting size I don't see as a problem, maybe 6x3 to start and +1 row every 20 quality after q20 or something? (A q20 making 6x4, q40 making 6x5)
  • they shouldn't come close to wooden bow damage which should be buffed

Bullet is absolutely the correct term.

I think clay, stone and metal bullets can all exist with various trade offs or damage and accuracy. Raw stone should be low in accuracy but they can be carved into a smooth form, the smooth form also occurs as a foragable in rivers as the OP sugjests. Smooth stones would be more accurate as would be the clay and metal bullets. Metal is most damaging with Stone and Clay following behind, quality would modify accuracy but not damage.

Surely sling ammo should be smaller rocks than paving stones, have them as a craftable: 1 stone = x stone ammo, 1 metal nugget/bar (not sure how metal works yet) = y metal ammo, etc. Then as pouches hold ammo, which can't be used for anything else, there is no exploitable.

I don't care for the bullets, but we NEED stone pouches. Please.

Hmm, why not just make a stone-masons pouch? just like a seed bag, holds rocks, usable for a sling, and it would be nice for road working

Put it in the same slot as the poor mans belt I don't think anything else goes in that slot right? Not sure.

2 leather, one string quality doesn't matter

takes up one slot in inventory, when you use up all the rocks in one, swap them out.

I'd like to see this then you don't need an entire closet full of rocks, near the smelter because someone couldn't see above q10 stones thrown away.

Using a belt slot for storing stone would mean you should limit the ammo to around a 5x2 slot, or a 10 stone slot.
It's sufficient once you have enough perception to do decent damage to animals, since for anything fox and lower, you only need a few stones if you have high MM.

Maybe make it so if you gather stone, it get placed in the pouch.

Better is if the pouch can carry only 1x1 items and is called a "Trinket Pouch" for carrying small stuff.
