Stat loss & Ancestor Suggestion

Thoughts on the further development of Haven & Hearth? Feel free to opine!

Well I am not so sure about that demand from your side. I am always a little surprised when people are coming up with their own game mechanics in the C&I, because lets face it even if jorb and loftar like it, they will invent their own system anyway. I guess that is where a big portion of the fun they get out of developing is in.

I for myself stick to pointing out flaws in current systems or suggesting minor additions, because those are more helpful/more likely to get implemented anyway. You will never see your own combat or ancestorial system in h&h, neither are you entitled to any form of reaction from the devs. To not get disappointed I would rather cling to pointing out flaws and bugs and otherwise enjoy playing over acting like a dev ;)

Edit: This is not directed primarily towards you deadlypencil, more a thing that often strikes me as odd.

na i basically have given up on bug reports. ill post one if its game breaking in the hopes of getting a cape though. along time ago i had posted this one bug, and it was reposted by another guy, then a 3rd guy made a topic about it a month later. Then i think it was loftar who went into the 3rd topic and posted a comment basically saying it was the first time they had heard of it... that made me annoyed because really, the only way to get them to look at something is to have it at the top of the forum when they are online. they dont actually read all the bug reports. they should just make you moderators compile a list of all the outstanding bugs in the game IMO and to keep the list pinned on the bug forum...

Too true. Sometimes I wonder if they are just resistant to using other peoples' ideas, no matter how good. That would mean we should have to keep our ideas to ourselves. I always roll my eyes when I see someone suggest exactly how many stones an object should cost, but really, they seem to stay away doing what people suggest in general (maybe worried about ip?).

Jorb and Loftar are pretty much going to do what they want, and yes, it has lead to some pretty awesome systems, like tracking or fep.

I got multiple ideas implemented as suggested ^_^

Anyway, back to OP. It looks like a pretty solid suggestion, but I think death should be a tad more harsh. For example, rather than reclaiming all skills via worship, it could be broken into multiple aspects that need to be activated and maintained separately.

for whatever reason, moderators are unable to sticky threads. it would be nice though.

This would be nice. I do like the concept of ancestors granting all stats rather than just combat stats.
But, I like Potjeh's ideas on the subject.
