Raw onions, sliced like an apple into wedges and dipped in ranch are good. Onions are a vegetable with nutritional value. Op is right, black FEPs don't exactly make sense but hey, w/e. there are worse things in the game that make less sense.

I once ate a whole raw onion on a bet. It was a lot like an apple. I don't think that it was good for me, though.

A bit of onion here and there might be healthy, but eating a whole raw onion without anything added? Can't be healthy. Don't forget we're talking about yellow onions here.

Acid reflux, maybe? I know I've gotten a little acid eating onions before...

Raw onions are in no way bad for you. Yes, it may bring a tear to your eye or the flavor may be too strong, but that has absolutely no meaning when it comes to the health benefits of onions.

Funny enough if you read this article: http://www.whfoods.com/genpage.php?tnam ... ce&dbid=45 , yellow onions are actually shown to be one of the healthiest of all onions so it really makes no sense at all that eating them in game hurts you.

Even rats could be argued not to hurt you when cooked, especially considering the much healthier outdoor environment of H&H compared to that of where they most commonly seen in real life. However, I can understand arguments for rats damaging health too.

I kind of think of black FEP as a broader category that includes indigestion as well as stuff like food poisoning. Maybe it shouldn't be able to kill you, though.

That's the best explanation actually. But "it shouldn't be able to kill you"? I disagree. If you have a few dozen food poisonings in a row then you sure will die, no? Or if you get a food poisoning in a very weakened state? Of course it's able to kill you. Even a cold can kill you if you're weakened enough (which is the equivalent of very low HHP ingame).

OK but only raw, unclean foods would give food poisoning and indigestion isn't universally caused by any 1 food as that is something that comes from certain conditions people get from eating unhealthy, having medical conditions, etc.

Assuming you categorize onions as "raw and unclean" you'd have to categorize every other vegetable and fruit in the game as so. Categorizing onions as unclean is silly too because people even use onions to clean things including grills (which you've probably all seen).

No, if you get food poisoning a dozen times in a row you won't die. well, Depending on how strong it is, you may die, but usually you'll just have diarrhea and need to drink lots of water. Food poisoning isn't that bad and you usually get it from meat and dairy products that are uncooked/rotted/unsafe to eat.

I'd like to point out that you can eat raw beef in the game without getting black feps.
