Or at least I wouldn't. I'd just throw a cupboard there and call it a day.

Give each one the space of a cupboard and make it able to stack 3 of them, or give each of them 10x10 and make it able to stack 2 of them.

And there you go, preferably the former option.

hey if there was storage that was 10x10 and liftable with items I would orgasm

Using interface as an obstacle is never a good idea.

The reason i suggested using a rack versus just plain stacking of objects is so that any of the "drawers" could be accessed at any time, rather than shuffling crates around to get to the bottom of a stack. That could work too, but it might be a little less pleasant inside a crowded house than dealing with just one liftable object.

If we do see stackable containers/crates, i would LOVE to see stackable wineracks. Aside from condensing storage, it would just look awesome to have a classy wine cellar all stacked to the ceiling!!

then you would have to build some sort of ladder system :D
Like those ladders in those massive libraries that have wheels on the bottom and stuff

A "different" crate with a 4x4 storage and liftable + stackable capability would work, and you're not limited to stacking crates inside a house. It'll be more organized outside too if these new crates decay less than the usual crates.

Maybe as a a result of the increased stack-ability and durability, it cost 4 boards and 1 bone glue per crate? Oh it takes up 1x1 space too so compared to one 1x2 crates, you can put two 1x1 of em next to each other.

Stacking them outside makes em vulnerable to being stolen obviously... That's what claims are for.

Maybe a possible shed players can build will work, sorta like a lean-to but with more slots for storing containers?

A "shed" with 4 slot storage for logs and containers can do, have it take 2x2 space. Requires 20 Boards, 10 Blocks of wood, and 2 Bone glue.
This'll make it easier to store large objects and containers, and lessen the need to make your timberhouse or log cabin, into a storehouse with cupboards.

My idea was for crates as you'd see in the picture posted on page 1. Those kinds of crates would work nicely, they're supposed to be longterm storage for the bottom items, as stated, for things you want to keep a lot of but don't need to access often, when you do need to access it just empty top one first (assuming the same thing, and then get to bottom one)

A good example for this might be to use it for food if you do it en masse.

There were 2 ideas in this thread:
1)Mass storage units, stackable, drawback is harder to get into, plus is more space per tile - This was what I was going with

2)A way to throw a bunch of stackables on one tile, they aren't necessarily big, but you fit a lot more 'per tile'. - This is what the drawer idea is going with.

I'd like to see both, perhaps the mass storage stackables being 8x8 and stack 2~3 of them, drawback being you can't move them unless empty, and can't get into the bottom ones since they'd open from the top.

I also wouldn't mind if they instead just showed 3 cupboard interfaces side-by-side to have them all accessable in one tile, you'd just have to make 3x as many. Whatever, either way, depends on whether the more space is actually that over-the-top.

For the second one I'd like to see something looking like cheese racks that you just stack like 8 crates into, or just let crates stack on top of each other, either way.

I'd obviously know that people won't use these new crates for just stacking and storing...
Imagine walls of create filled with stone, to make a wall of crates that allows slingers to reload while protecting them at the same time! LOL!

I would really like to see dedicated storage buildings like warehouses and silos. The storage would be accessible directly from outside, just like crates, so would not require additional "inside" map space. Large structures like warehouses could have storage options similar to the wagon with both liftable storage slots and a regular inventory grid.
