I'd also like a character reset, and to be honest, the only time a character reset would be appropriate would be if it came with a map reset -- because then you're really starting everything fresh again. There are plenty of browser games that do periodic full resets, and experienced players do still have an advantage -- a group to make a town with, understanding of game mechanics, etc.

I'm also all in favor of a character reset. It's dissuading for a new person to learn that there are a grand total of three people in the game who are near invincible.

Weird, previous post quoted but erased what I wrote. Unless it was somehow inserted somewhere within the quotes,

ANYWAY..

Blaze and I have the most to lose, perhaps Milaha, and Rift aswell. -

I'm cool with a character reset as long as the highbies, and I mean all of us, Get something unique, account wide, available from all characters. Something that wont affect the games actual mechanics, even something visual would be nice.

Lycanthrope would be cool. Comes with its own risks too, how could players distinguish you from another animal? Hmm, I guess that would be an issue. But still smething visual would be nice.

Otherwise if Im not gona get something in return for the effort, I'm dead set against a pwipe.

So when the next wave of newbies comes, you want to do a reset then, too? And again with the next wave? And again?

Del: There should be a lot more content for you to toy around with on the new map, and probably even before then. : )
i guess they never miss huh

I would willingly give up what I have accomplished so far in return for the opportunities that come with a completely blank slate. Big name MMOs start new servers for this very reason.

I like helping new people start their own claims, and it's really discouraging having to explain to them that with the current system they'll be second class citizens. If something changes this before the reset comes to somehow balance the population without a wipe, even better.

Once per map reset, or once per time it takes to get chars past endgame ("I can kill bears") and into the other side ("I can singlehandedly crush a town"), or periodically until beta. I'd be happy with any of those options.

Actually there are a large amount of games out there that work on a system of resets, for example ATITD a crafting game alot like this but only catering to carebears while not allowing any combat.
In ATITD you work together as a community towards huge goals one for example was build a pyramid, took them over a year to do it.
While I am not suggesting constant resets for H&H, I do believe that at the moment to retain players and test the lower end systems rather than just the higher end over and over that resets would be healthy.
While the new content will be great fun to play with again, wouldn't it be nice if people actually worked towards it again? This time it wouldn't be 5 guys with new people slowly coming in it would be over 100 people (SA could bring in at least that at the promise of a reset) to have a world grow out.
As it is new creatures will either have to be miles off, or will be killed on day one by higher ups too which I doubt is going to be fun for the higher ups to "use" or "waste" the new content on day one rather than have build up towards it by working up from scratch again.
