I don't really like the idea of binding criminal acts to the Barbarism/Civilization slider, they don't seem related to me.
Loftar has mentioned similar ideas, though, with certain alignments unlocking certain skills.

I think it was night and day he linked to criminal acts.
The ones who see things differently.

You can praise them, disagree with them, quote them, disbelieve them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can't do is ignore them.

Easiest way to break the exploit on the beliefs slider, is to have a slider that actually unlocks the skills, then the person has to buy them. If they lower the slider, they still keep the skill but can't use it.
