I totally agree. So much effort is put into balancing things and gameplay mechanics... which is of course necessary and appreciated. But small things done for no other reason than immersion and appearances are still welcome :)

you could also burn it like charcoal, because that's kind of what jet is. a kind of coal. at least I think so, I could be wrong about that.

Sex stones.

Smooth rocks can be put together in small amounts to make sex stones.

I like the ideas and you are correct about the griefers. I would prefer if the coffin allowed anything, though, not necessarily just human skeletons or even just skeletons.

Yep. Usage could provide charisma boosts at the cost of a hefty amount of stamina. And if you use them too much, they'll give you a "Sores In The Willie" buffer.

some uses for more specialized stones could be to be intermediaries between metal and stone tools. An example could be a sharp stone harvesting tool, which speeds it up a bit, but not by far as much as a metal scythe. I'm sure there is more to think of, such as chisels and such to help splitting woods.... I cant think of much right now

+1 to quarries and stone shrines
+1 to slate roofs
+1 to obsidian tools and jewelry. obsidian might occur the same way feldspar does, but at much lower perception*exploration requirements - black glass-like stones are rather easy to spot. also suggesting obsidian arrows and swords.
obsidian might replace raw glass for bottles and glasses, requiring a fire to form it. this would help if the area has no sandy beaches in reasonable reach. obsidian glass could be used in the numerous "stills and spirits" ideas for bewerages, medicines, but also to store inks and other potions.
limestone could be heated to created quick lime, then mixed with water in a solid container (e.g. stone trough) to obtain slaked lime. slaked lime should be a required component for stone mansions and brick walls, as mortar. it could occur at cliffs or tiles next to cliffs, where you'd dig it instead of soil.
