Love the series and a good place to get an idea from. Of course we can have wonders that can only exist in one place in the world and wonders that can only exist once in a village. I'm wondering there are should be a small bonus for keeping these wonders around. It should be small since it is a permanent part of the village, unlike the monuments, while being true to the original idea.

As for monuments, you may want them to check claim area so it doesn't end up spawning into someone's backyard. Claiming the actual monument may require a claim function rather than the territorial one so you don't want to revoke your personal claim for the monument and extending the village claim is be cumbersome.

Any reason why you think they should be buildable instead of dynamically spawning?

I personally prefer that they'd be spawn at a random location every once in a while so that the big villages still have to have people exploring, which I believe should always be a priority. Also gives them something to defend and forces tension between the factions in the supergrid. Right now there really isn't any "need" for ingame drama, if the community so choose we could very easily make a utopian society wherein goods are distributed fairly and equally, its just we force drama upon ourselves (with help of certain players (I'm looking at you NaoWhut, El Gato, other raiders whose names escape me). This would be the game helping to artificially implement drama into our community.

Although I can see some fun if they are just structures built within a village, giving raids a bigger purpose. Villages breaking into one another just to destroy the others monuments and set them back temporarily.

well i guess it depends on what you really mean about "monuments" and "dynamically spawning". if it was some kind of natural monument like a rock formation or a hot spring or geyser that was created at the same time as the map, that seems cool to me. if it's a statue or obelisk or something like that, it should be buildable and not just randomly appear.

I guess instead of having them randomly pop up, there could be a bunch per SG and they were there from the start. And they are only active every now and again. I don't think they should be constantly active.

Natural hotsprings and geyser and other cool natural things like that would be better then obelisks and such.

not all raids are carried out just for the lolz, there have been plenty of fights over mines, clay spots, etc
