Just let the dogs chase rabbits and chickens, and have some dog-house like a hearth for dogs, and they hold the dead animals in an inventory?

It's not perfected, and they're probably not currently working on it, they have more things to work on that are more important, dogs (as much as I want them) can wait.

Reeyfer wrote:Wait the AI isn't good enough for hunting dogs, or just dogs period? Because for a guard dog it would seem like you would just give it grizzly ai, amp up its detect radius and hostility, and convince it that all trespassers are prey items. Have them roam randomly the rest of the time, incapable of traveling outside the owner's claim unless attacked (and then traveling back if scared off, lost the target (deaggro) or killed/incapped the target. That would be pretty awesome, especially if they gave them bear-like prowess when bred up to the top level. One or two, sure, most good players can handle. But a lot of people who could punch a brick wall down might go look for another if they saw a couple dozen mean arse wolf dogs roaming around inside.

What is the problem with the ai for this anyway? Because it WOULD be awesome although there is a lot of other stuff that seems higher priority than trying to work up new ai if the current couldn't be hacked into suitability.

OR you could, as brickbasher, just bring a bow anyway and snipe the dogs?
Sounds rubbish to me! :)
