Anyone playing on a laptop without an accessory mouse.

I dunno, but I haven't so far seen a laptop with its trackpad configured as a mousewheel (press both buttons to act as middle button, drag along the right border of the trackpad to simulate mouse wheel).

Yeah I like the Idea of ctrl+S tabbing through chat boxes because that's exactly what I'm thinking but...is largely useless because I pretty much only use village chat if that and usually not simply because of a lack of this feature making it a pitfa that accidentally breaks just about anything I'm trying to do.

Yeah, mine has the scroll bar on the side, but if I hit both buttons it does a left click while pressed, and a right click on release. :/
I use an external mouse on my laptop, but there was a guy in my village who didn't.

Problems with the chat:

a)
Many are conditioned to use <CR> to initiate chat in currently selected channed (since this is default with many other games).
Having to grab the mouse to initiate chat isn't fun, especially when a misclick breaks current action (eg. walk command while in combat -> getting hit as without armor).

b)
It's impossible to see in which chat you currently are (since there is no visual indication at all).

c)
Chat focus is lost through everything GUI related happening on the client (single click is enough).
