Oh, right
Yeah, that's a good idea then. I don't see why anyone would ever need to create a dozen threads at once.

I never done one of these posts before and I feel like a conformer, but:

30 minute cooldown for starting threads sounds like a good idea, no real reason you'd have to start a bunch of threads. restricting noobs isn't - not every one of them is stupid, it's just that the stupid ones stick out more. new players would get the impression that we're hostile to them, which could turn people away.

if it's too hard to set up, maybe there could be a new usergroup that can't post new threads that we could for offenders.

The probation period sounds good, this would also help with alt abuse. I don't agree with the thread cooldown idea because when I actually create threads it is sometimes several at the same time. I don't want to have to needlessly wait around to be able to create a thread.

that doesnt seem relevant

new players would get the impression that we're hostile to them, which could turn people away.

if theyre willing to play the game in its current state, i rather doubt thread probation would be what turns them away. but if it does, what have we lost?

What could you post that couldnt stand to wait half an hour if it was important?

Sometimes I want to get the idea out there, or I may just have other shit to do.

"An idea", singular, but the cooldown is after not before you post. So, two or more at once. How often do you find yourself making multiple threads in a row?

It would be great for this board in particular. Maybe sticky a "Search before 'Create thread'" topic.
