I've never had longer than a 3-4 second "lag spike".

And as jorb said there's really no way to defend against it entirely and I don't really know what you expect them to do about it. Lag is lag, and when experiencing it the game will be unresponsive to your actions while continuing the server side of things. It really doesn't seem like that large of an issue to me, granted I don't play as extensively as some of you seem to, but the only real way to fix it would be to weaken the strength/lethality of aggroed animals. There's really no other way to protect against it other than eliminating the lag altogether which isn't possible.

I've noticed -- however -- that the game tends to "freeze up" on me at times these days -- completely irresponsive for like a two second burst -- and loftar assures me that this is due to some strangeness in Moltke's network card. That can hopefully be fixed, but lag there will always be.

What are your thoughts on adding a queue, if it ever comes to that?

We have talked about it. I'm not against it, but I'd obviously prefer it if we could serve all comers.

Likewise, people could abuse a queue system, I suppose.

Hour ago I got killed by lag and a stupid boar. Im fully agreed with DOG here and its just a pain in the ass trying to get LP again to get some high skill to do the same again and end up dying again.

I must say the complete freeze ups happen quite frequenyly every so oftern, not to bad though.
Bad though, when a bear comes on screen and ya freeze up n' the only thing that comes to mind is oh shit, oh shit, mutha faka runway.
But you kinda can't >.<

I am fine, experiencing little to no lag at all.

Hopefully all these noobs get bored and quit before they managed to invite more noobs to retain sufficient critical mass.

Agreed. I would rather see you take donations/fees than continue with this laggyness.
I wasn't killed by an animal yet but thats because I usually don't aggro them and really try to stay away from everything that is not a rabbit.
A boar almost broke my boat though when I was hunting with a buddy and if I hadn't been in a boat the encounter would definetely have ended fatally for me and probably my companion because the whole thing was unresponsive for easily 10-15 seconds.

I don't know what your hardware is but you should really consider getting a better server/connection.
