yeah but bread

If it were changed (and I still don't agree that it should be), then their frequency should at least be reduced. As of right now they're by far the most common forageable.

and eating them would allow you to find other foragables, awesome

Bread is about 300x harder to produce as newbie than a generic forageable or tree fruits.

yeah it's pretty hard to type in your hearth secret on an alt to get some bread

even given that it's fine to have 0 fep foods there should be better early game foods

Ehh I actually like that there are specific non-FEP foods aimed at providing for starving newbies and that the early game is slightly challenging and makes you work hard if you wish to diversify for FEP stats. The fact that not all FEP values are easily available to new characters makes the player think more about rationing his FEPs and getting used to the system.

What a great idea. Not only would it lead to increasing the little list of foods that give perception, but would also make foraging more appealing to the more new characters.

In my understanding lack of per food in the early game is totally intentional, exactly till the point of finding rustroot. That provides for a "we get mine first" grindfest. Personally i like subj idea while doesn't like the grindfest, but that's just me.

On the other hand current situation makes a great early game fishing experience :-) Still i say it's not worth it on the whole, so yeah adding per bonus would be nice.

Im not against this idea.

as for plaice, using worms on the full moon in shallow lake will catch only plaice and maybe a roach.

i view eating taproots on the same level as digging through the dirt for grubs. that is, it's caveman food for primitives who can't find any other means.

you can literally see taproots at 1 exploration, and once you raise it a bit they are everywhere. why make this a preferred food? maybe a per forageable isn't a bad idea, but not taproots. maybe switch blueberries from int to per (since fishing gives tons of int anyways), or make a new low level forageable that gives small amounts of per
