@Zampfeo: A 12 hour bonfire... yeah that makes sense.

Light a solid log 3 meters wide and 15 meters tall and you tell me how long it takes to burn.

This is a little grotesque, but hear me out: A kamikaze attack, where the hearthling wraps himself in hay, lights himself on fire, and hurls himself at the palisade. Damage to the palisade is determined by LP of the attacker (or total stats, or whatever), but the attacker CANNOT be resurrected by any means if they do this attack, even through the reincarnation system.

Too extreme? Too useless? I dunno, i'm just throwing a crazy idea out there.

And +1 to onion's idea of burning ruins... clean up abandoned claims, AND look dramatic in the process!

How is a person hurling themselves at a wall actually built for defensive purposes going to do anything? On fire or not.

Haha, dude, to hell with realism. I was just thinking of some kind of dramatic looking attack that would involve one person in a village sacrificing their character development in order to breach the walls of an enemy village. However you want to rationalize it is fine by me.

Last time I checked a bucket holds 10 liters of water

It would have proven your point much better and also proven you really do understand how to fight people and not only how to slaughter helpless sheep.

I can totally understand the straw roof burning, but burning stone walls...? Seriously?

Actually, fire is a very real threat to stone structures. The mortars typically could not handle the heat as well as the stone, and the mortar would crack and disform some. On a small scale, this is superficial damage, but enough of it might let small bits of the wall come out, and from there it is dominoes.
