Not really, even if a player is afking on a boat, it shouldn't be easy to break it as the boat should basically soak the hit from the water itself.

What makes you think your avatar is hitting the boat horizontally? Overhead blows on a wooden boat would do a good amount of damage.

I support this idea.

Destroying a boat with a person inside, effectivelly killing him, should leave murder scents.

well if not a murder scent, a vandalism scent.same as if you destroy a leanto with a person sleeping inside

How would that not make the water absorb a good amount of the blow anyways?

Destroying a boat while someone is in there should leave at least vandalism scents (and should require the skill).
In case the boat is sunk and someone drowned the system should spawn a murder (or similar) scent.

As usual: IMHO.
