Among the 2,000 MMOs out there this seems to be the ONLY one with permadeath. The game is what it is because of permadeath - so many dynamics would change if death were cheap. Change permadeath and Haven and Hearth would become lost in the crowd.

P.S. if permadeath is too frustrating for you, play multiple characters.. that way when one dies, you haven't lost everything!

Don't you realize that griefing would only become worse without permadeath? Without the threat of death, what is to keep griefers from simply stealing (or vandalizing, or destroying, or fill with simple buildings, et cetera ad infinitum) all that you've made? Permadeath is one of the most fundamentally important aspects of the whole game; without it, pretty much everything falls apart.

Furthermore -- not really related, but it should be mentioned -- I'd generally much prefer not to have different servers at all, same ruleset or not. I think one of the greatest aspects of Haven is its unified, unfragmented world, and I'd like to keep it that way.

People mis-quoting/alter-quoting me and then banning me, how original. I'm the troll here? For suggesting an ALTERNATE server? What, might I ask, did I do that was such a gross offense that warranted a ban? Disagreeing with Jorb? Who's the more mature one here? Simply because I made a suggestion and Jorb didn't like it? Because I gave valid reasoning and Jorb didn't like it? There are many people I've spoken to who play this game for the unique take on pioneer sim gaming and NOT for the permadeath. In fact, just about everyone I've spoken to in-game HATES it, but they do what I do: TOLERATE it.

I'm willing to bet Jorb has never been a victim of griefing in H&H. so he probably doesn't know how frustrating it is, losing weeks or even months of work. He's a god in his own little H&H world, and perhaps it is that fact as to why he's responding the way he is: I threaten his god complex.

EDIT: I see that it was sab that banned me and I frown. While I'm glad it wasn't Jorb who did the banning, I still stand by my aforementioned statements.
