Yes, most hornet species are rather peaceful. There are some exotic species however, that are *very* dangerous.
For instance, the Japanese Hornet. THere's some nice videos of them annihilating a bees' colony on the web.
They also account for a few dozens of dead people in the Tokyo area on a yearly basis.

European hornets are fairly nasty too, I'm just saying you don't have to be Chuck Norris to beat them. Not that Chuck could beat those hornets in the OP.

I think the main point is that, as it stands, your version of hornets could kill a troll in a 1v1 fight. This is a bad indication of balance and generally rules out any opportunity for players to have a chance against them short of abusing bad pathing AI. Regardless of your views on the animal in real life, it does not translate into a creature capable of wiping out all players and other natural fauna in the game. It prevents players from gathering initiative, then reduces their defense and attack to nil instantly and for free. This means it can and will freely spam attacks and there is nothing the player can do about this.

Okay, looking at it again, you are right.

How about:

buzz (move)
cost: free
drains 1 IP from the player, hornet gains 2 IP
combat intensity +2

spray poison (move)
cost: 10 IP
drains 50% of the player's offense and defense

Bite (attack)
cost: 2 IP, needs combat intensity <5
does quite a bit more damage than an ant's attack.
should be capable of hurting a relatively high level player, at least with full advantage
combat advantage +1
combat intensity +1

Sting (attack)
cost: free, needs combat intensity >5
Does similar damage as Bite
combat advantage +1
Resets combat intensity. Hornet gains IP equal to the intensity reduced

I am 100% confident you have never used the combat system before. With the edits, they are kill-able though, just you can never let them swing at you and you can never try to gain initiative. It breaks down to Punch, jump!, Punch. Why does attacking futilely earn them combat advantage anyway?

It's best you just leave the actual numbers for combat to Loftorb, if they even consider this.
"Normal" is only a difficulty level in video games - Aso11
Jackard: Koya only raises the lynx so he can molest it later
Koya: What means "molest" ? Translator cannot translate it or do it with no logics...
"And no im not native to english, I was born in the usa." - A very bad troll.

I guess you just really, really suck at the combat system then.

How I envisioned it, the trick in beating them, would be having enough UA to gain more IP than they can drain with their buzz, using Death or Glory, either with or without the help of Dash.
If you don't have enough UA for that, you better not engage them in the first place.

When you have gained enough IP, there's Sting Like a Bee to prevent them from using their Sting, just time it before their attack meter is full.
Also, Consume the Flames to get the attack bar up so you can punch them, and also prevent them using their Sting attack.

The combat advantage might, or might not be a problem. Again, the trick would be to be able to gain IP, for slide.

Anyways, Aso is kinda right. Numbers are better left to the devs.

As it stands, combat would flow like this:

Enter combat with Bloodlust, Punch. The hornet cannot attack back as you have not fed it initiative.
The hornets literally feed init off of you, so it's counterproductive to gain initiative.
Jump and punch until your combat intensity is 4, then Consume the Flames. The hornet continues to do nothing.
Ideally, the hornet should be dead.

If you have enough UA to gain 2 or more initiative from the hornets, where 2 init is 4x UA, 3 init would be 9x UA, 4 init would be 16x UA, etc., then you're already strong enough to kill them in one shot anyway. Where breaking their defense in one swing is the equivalent to winning already in a 1v1.
